Here's a roundup of recent incidents and announcements from Ventura County agencies: A pedestrian was hospitalized with major injuries early Sunday after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident in the Simi Valley area, authorities reported. The 26-year-old Simi Valley man was struck by a black sedan that left the scene after the crash reported around 3 a.m. on Tierra Rejada Road between Highway 23 and Madera Road, Officer Ryan Ayers of the California Highway Patrol said. Ayers said later Sunday that officers had arrested a 41-year-old woman from Burien, Washington, in connection with the crash.
